Marcy Willard recieved her BA from University of Colorado and her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. She is now pursing her PhD in School Psychology. Marcy has a broad base of experience working with special needs children in various settings. Some of her more notable placements include:
1. Kelly McKinnon and Associates (Social skills clinic for children on the Autism Spectrum)
2. Child Development Center (A school based therapeutic center for children with ADHD and Learning Disabilities, including direct social skills instruction)
3. Denver Academy (A private school for childen with Learning Disabilities)
4. Lindamood-Bell (A renown literacy clinic, generally for children with reading and language delays)
Marcy also has volunteered for or contributed to the following organizations: Junior Achievement, Autism Speaks, Children’s Defense Fund, Smile Train, CHADD, and many others.
Marcy Willard is the most supportive, caring, and intelligent woman I know. Even today, after 25 years of friendship, as Marcy and I reflect on our childhoods, it is the laughter surrounding funny stories of which we most often reminisce. As children, Marcy and I could laugh and laugh for hours on end…I suppose you could even say that I was her first student; long before her MA, Marcy’s humor and compassion were very soothing, comforting and therapeutic to some of my own childhood wounds. As someone who knows Marcy as well as anyone could, I can assure you that Marcy’s smile is as authentic as her motivation for making a difference in a child’s life.
