No matter how many new treatments come up every day, it seems like these three generally make the ‘most wanted’ list. Most wanted, as in, we want kids to have these opportunities. Social stories provides direct instruction in social skills through clear examples. Scripting offers children the words to use in order to be more successful in social exchanges. Playgroups (especially those involoving some typical peers) are generally a great idea. I have heard many people who have benefited from dietary treatments as well. Although, I have also learned that many families have not found value in them. However, it seems that Social Stories, Scripting, and Playgroups always make the cut.
