Fighting Against Autism on Larry King

If viewers also read the Wired article posted on this page, one might see that title as in need of a major edit. Rather than fighting against autism, there might be two other approaches to consider: integrating adults with Autism into the fabric of society…understanding how the Autistic brain is different rather than seeing it as ’diseased’. Treatment approaches are the name of the game for parents, and rightly so. However, I think most parents and experts have decided that ‘fighting against’ autism is no longer the goal. Developing an understanding and accommodations in our society to allow people with Autism to flourish in society is a higher order priority.
